The Georgia month to month rental agreements allow for a short-term arrangement between a landlord and tenant. The lease is ideal for situations where the parties do not wish to commit to a long or fixed term deal and would like to renew until the time of giving notice to vacate. According to Statute 44-7-7 the landlord must give at least sixty (60) days’ notice and the tenant must give at least thirty (30) days’ notice to terminate the agreement. There is the same amount of risk to the landlord for a monthly contract as a standard one (1) year term. Therefore it is ideal for the lessor to review the tenant’s monthly income by viewing pay stubs or requesting their tax return from the previous year.
