A Colorado Limited Power of Attorney Form is an agreement that gives the Attorney-in-Fact the power to make specific decisions or perform certain tasks on behalf of the Principal. This varies from the General Power of Attorney Form in that it gives the Attorney-in-Fact the power to make those decisions and no others. This is generally used when the Principal wishes to cede authority to buy or sell certain pieces of property, such as Real Estate or automobiles, without handing off any other authority.
Note that, like the General Power of Attorney Form, this form will be declared void in the event the Principal dies or is incapacitated, unless it specifically states otherwise. In addition, this form cannot be used to give the Attorney-in-Fact power to make medical decisions for the Principal. A Medical Power of Attorney Form, which is governed differently, would be required for that.
