The New Mexico General Power of Attorney Form is used to give the Agent far reaching over the Principal’s financial affairs. In this case it usually allows the Agent to add or withdraw money from the Principal’s bank accounts, oversee their investments, and manage their bills, including credit cards and utilities.

As they are usually nether Springing or Durable, General Power of Attorney forms are usually intended for a Principal who is legally capable of managing their own finances but, for one reason or another, may need another person to help or occasionally take over. While this kind of agreement can be revoked at any time by the Principal, the Principal should still choose their Agent carefully, as this is entrusting them with a great deal of authority and responsibility.
