The Texas Power of Attorney Forms are a group of legal agreements that give one person, known as the Attorney-in-Fact or Agent, the power to act on behalf of or make decisions in place of another person, known as the Principal. What powers the agreement is granting will be covered by the document description, although some will have to be customized to specify which exact powers are being given to the Agent.

The Principal should be sure to choose an Agent that they trust implicitly to act in good faith in their best interest. A Power of Attorney agreement gives the Agent a significant amount of authority, which can lead to potential for abuse, accidental or otherwise. The Principal will need to ensure they choose an Agent who can handle that level of trust and responsibility.
