The Louisiana Standard One (1) Year Lease Agreement is the most popular residential lease agreement used by landlords. The duration of the lease is fixed for 1 year but can be adjusted to be for any time period stipulated in the agreement not to exceed ninety-nine (99) years which is required by law.
Upon approval of the rental application, this agreement should be used to assign a property to a tenant for a term of 1 year. This agreement has the option to include a renewal clause which will renew the lease for another term equal to the original term. If the tenant decides not to renew, they must give written notice of they intent to vacate, typically 30 days notice.
