A North Carolina Month to Month Lease Agreement is a shorter, more fluid agreement that begins every month when rent is paid and ends when the month is over, renewing when rent is paid again. This lease type is popular amongst students, apartments in low demand, and tenants with bad credit.

Lease Termination

Unpaid Rent – When a tenant fails to pay rent, the landlord must wait 10 days before filing a complaint to the courthouse.

Eviction – If a tenant stay after the rental period ends of a monthly lease agreement, the landlord can evict the tenant by giving 7 days written notice.
